Yarning Circles for Justice

A series of 26 week programs whose focus is on enabling ex-detainees to stay in the community and re-build their lives – rather than return to prison. Clients will engaged in daily activities and re-establish crucial links to community and culture, restore relationships with friends, family and peers, and acclimatise to managing their own lives on the outside in order to reduce recidivism and contribute to improving life outcomes. The programs will be delivered by specialist Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander organisations and enterprises with separate opportunities to women and men inside and outside prison and may include children/family.

Throughcare Support

A program that works in collaboration with the ACT Corrective Services Throughcare Unit to provide individualised and intensive case managed and trauma informed support, in order to work together with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander men and women exiting the Alexander Maconochie Centre following a custodial sentence.

About us

Yeddung Mura means good pathways in Ngunnawal language. Yeddung Mura (Good Pathways) Aboriginal Corporation was initially started to address a number of gaps identified by Aboriginal elders in the community.  We are a grass roots organisation that works directly in the community to meet the needs of Aboriginal people.

Yeddung Mura (Good Pathways) was registered as an Aboriginal Corporation with the Office of the Registrar of Indigenous Corporations (ORIC). The corporation is also registered as a charity (public benevolent institution) with the ACNC.

The corporation aims to help relieve disadvantage within the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community in the Australian Capital Territory and surrounding region. By partnering with our stakeholders and other agencies, the corporation will provide ‘good pathways’ to clients by providing culturally appropriate housing.
